Finally got my hands on the definitive version and the four new characters alone are worth it—Dee Jay’s kicks feel so fluid in the new stages. The enhanced gameplay really shines in versus mode with friends.
The new challengers really shake things up—T. Hawk feels like a completely fresh matchup from anything in the original roster, and the extra stages keep the flow from getting stale. I'm already a few hours in and the enhanced gameplay is exactly what I was hoping for.
Got my Ken combo timing back in under a day after switching to this version, and having four extra characters makes the roster feel complete this time. The four new stages are a nice visual kick too, and it plays as smooth as I remember the arcade being.
