The two-player mode is a lifesaver—my brother and I have been battling over who lasts longer against those enemy waves since it arrived. The controls are responsive enough that even the 1978-style gameplay feels fresh, and it's the perfect desk distraction.
The sound effects and the little spaceship controls feel way more responsive than I expected for a retro handheld. It's genuinely addictive trying to hold off those waves before they land, and the whole thing gives me serious 1978 arcade vibes every time I pick it up.
The moment I fired the first shot and saw those iconic invaders drop down a row, I was 10 years old again. The playfield feels true to the 1978 original, and the rapid-fire action is exactly the frantic defense I remember.
